With just under five minutes to play in Friday night’s epic encounter with the Giants in Canberra, the Dogs were looking for something special, and they found it in Jake Stringer.

The difference was nine points and a pack had formed twenty five metres out from the Bulldogs goal. Suddenly the ball squirted loose and Stringer was there to swoop on the lose ball, split a pack of Giants, shake off a desperate Callan Ward tackle and snap truly on his left foot.

The goal has come in at number seven in AFL.com.au’s weekly countdown of the best plays of the week, and being nominated for the Coates Hire Goal Of The Week. Click here to vote.

It’s been a solid start to the season for Stringer, currently sitting on top of the Club’s goalkicking leaderboard with 13, at 2.2 per game.

He’s also recorded career highs in disposals (15.8), contested possessions (8.0), marks per game (3.8), score assists (1.5) and clearances (2.5) according to Champion Data.
