Two senior Bulldogs will make their debut for Footscray on Saturday afternoon, after returning from pre-season injuries.

Zaine Cordy and Caleb Daniel will play their first games for the Club in the VFL this weekend, when Footscray takes on Geelong at Victoria University Whitten Oval.

Cordy was recruited to the Club via father-son selection (62nd overall) in the 2014 NAB AFL National Draft and underwent a shoulder reconstruction in December last year.

Daniel, taken at pick number 46 in 2014, played two NAB Challenge matches with the senior side before injuring his knee, and returns through the VFL this weekend.

Cordy looks set to take up a key defensive post alongside Joel Hamling, while Daniel will bring his trademark aggression to the midfield and half-forward lines.

Sam Darley also returns through the VFL after recovering from a minor hamstring injury.

Liam Nash will make his debut for Footscray as the 23rd man, while co-captain Mark Austin will play his first match for 2015.

Both teams are coming off narrow losses to Collingwood (round three Footscray and round four Geelong) and will be looking to improve their form, with Footscray’s young stars to hopefully spark the turnaround.
