Five additions have been made to the Western Bulldogs extended squad as the Club looks to bounce back against Adelaide on Sunday at Etihad Stadium.

First year player Mitch Honeychurch stands on the verge of a debut and has been named on an extended interchange.

Tory Dickson, Tom Campbell, Lachie Hunter and Fletcher Roberts round out the five additions, while Mitch Wallis and Tom Williams have been omitted.

Dickson has impressed in front of goal for Footscray in the VFL in recent weeks – including a five goal haul last Sunday agains the Northern Blues - while his pressure acts have also been a highlight of his play.

Providing a second ruck option to All Australian Will Minson, Campbell’s inclusion comes on the back of averaging  44 hitouts per game at VFL level.

Campbell is also expected to spend time in the forward half as a key target, a role in which he produced four goals in last year’s fixture against the Crows.

Fletcher Roberts has held down a key defensive post for Footscray in recent weeks, and provides a versatile option for the coaching staff in the absence of Dale Morris and Jordan Roughead.

Hunter remains in calculations after being named as a match day emergency last week against Carlton.

Assistant Coach Steven King said Adelaide were a team with winning momentum and will require a full team defensive effort to contend with their aggressive, hard-running game-style . 

“They’ve been in good form, they have had a couple of really good wins,” King said.

“They are a high skill team and they hold the ball really well and they counter attack off their half back line really strongly.

“They’ve got a good strong midfield that we will have to keep a hold of, they are a confident group at the moment.”
