In a major coup for the Club, the Western Bulldogs have today announced an extension with major partner Mission Foods until the end of the 2017 season.

At the completion of its current term, Mission Foods will become the Club’s longest serving major partner after beginning the relationship in 2009 — coinciding with Mission Foods’ entry into the Australian market.

The multi-million dollar agreement will see international brand Mission Foods continue on as sole major partner of the Club, and feature on the front and back of the match day guernsey as well as selected off-field apparel.

Western Bulldogs President Peter Gordon said the extension was a great show of faith that the Club is headed in the right direction and a great opportunity to continue the strong relationship it had fostered with Mission Foods since 2009.

“We are delighted to be involved with a truly global organisation in Mission Foods and the partnership gives us a great source of pride,” Gordon said.

“Mission Foods’ journey has been one of persistence and hard work — having started as a family business, that has grown into an international success story, while staying true to its community links —  which is something that we, as a Club, identify strongly with.

“Juan Gonzales and his team have played a tremendous part in the growth of our Club both on and off the field over the past six seasons, and we look forward to building on that into the future.”

Chairman of Mission Foods Juan Gonzalez said it was the like-mindedness of the Western Bulldogs that made the decision to continue the long standing relationship a logical one.

“When we first entered the Australian market place in 2009, we searched for a partner in the AFL that shared similar values to us – we found that in the Western Bulldogs,” Gonzalez said.

“Six years later when it came time to re-evaluate our relationship and the journey we had taken, we found that we still had strong synergies and strategic alignment on all those ideals.

“The decision was made – it made sense to continue this long standing partnership with a club that has a solid set of values, supports the community with relevant initiatives and has one of the most dynamic teams in the competition.”

“We are delighted to continue sharing in this very exciting journey.”
