The Bulldogs have secured yet another key member of the midfield after re-signing Mitch Wallis for another three years.

With Marcus Bontempelli, Tom Liberatore, Jack Macrae, Luke Dahlhaus and Liam Picken all extending their contracts to at least 2017, the Western Bulldogs have built a talent-laden midfield group for the future.

After spending the past two seasons in a defensive midfield role, Wallis has taken his game to a new level in 2015, adding a more attacking mindset and goal kicking to his repertoire.

Averaging 22 possessions and five tackles per game, Wallis has been central to the team’s winning season so far — also becoming the Club’s number one contested possession (11.7) and clearance (5.5) player.

List Manager Jason McCartney lauded Wallis’ maturity and progression this season.

“Along with Liam Picken, Mitch has shouldered a lot of responsibility and leadership in the midfield this year and has been central to some of our wins this season.”

“He is a mature head, who is totally committed to the footy Club in everything he does, and we’re really pleased to extend his contract for another three years.”

Wallis has played 68 games since being taken with pick 22 (father-son selection) in the 2010 National Draft.
