A clean bill of health out of the Western Bulldogs win over Melbourne will see the Bulldogs in good condition for their trip to Perth to face West Coast in round 21.

The Bulldogs came out of the Melbourne match with no major injury concerns and General Manager of Football Graham Lowe was pleased with both outcomes.

“Really pleasing, the players got through the game really well so the usual bumps and bruises but certainly a positive outcome from an injury perspective.”

In more positive news, defender Jason Johannisen looks likely to return after progressing well through his rehab from a hamstring injury.

“Jason’s come through and certainly ticked all the boxes we wanted him to in terms of his recovery from hamstring tightness that he had from a couple of weeks ago so pending successful training off the back end of this week, he’ll make himself available for selection this weekend.”

Fellow defenders Jordan Roughead and Fletcher Roberts both enjoyed a successful return after their respective injuries, coming through the VFL match unscathed.

“Pleasing to have Jordan and Fletch back on the track and both of them successfully came through from their previous injuries, got through the games well so great to have them back involved.”

Footscray posted a four-point victory against Port Melbourne on Saturday in the VFL, with Josh Prudden the only injury concern out of that match.

“Josh sustained a low grade hamstring injury late in the last quarter, so that will take him out for the next couple of weeks. He won’t be available to play.”
