Two-time Premiership player Matthew Suckling will join the Western Bulldogs in 2016 after choosing the Dogs as his preferred Club. 

The 27-year-old comes to the Bulldogs after 102 games for Hawthorn, debuting in  2009. 

With an elite left foot kick, Suckling a medium defender and outside midfielder, is known for his elite kicking ability and work rate.

Western Bulldogs Chief Executive David Stevenson said today the Club was thrilled to have secured Matthew. 

"We welcome Matthew to the Bulldogs - his talent, experience and strong character will be a great addition to the Club. 

"His decision to join the Western Bulldogs is a fantastic reflection on our Club, our people and our future direction," Stevenson said. 

Western Bulldogs List Manager Jason McCartney said he was very pleased to add a player of Matthew's skill, versatility and experience to a list that currently contains only five 100 game-plus players. 

"Matthew's exciting and daring brand of football will really complement our style of play," he said today.
