On the field, Bailey Williams is a competitive beast.  Off the field, you won’t find too many players as laid back as the South Australian utility.

Facing the media for the first time on Thursday morning, Williams was asked about his 56 possession outing against Woodville-West Torrens while playing for Glenelg earlier in the year.

The Bulldogs’ fourth pick in the 2015 NAB AFL Draft’s response was typically humble and team focused.

“It was a shocking day.  Our team got absolutely smashed but I was lucky enough to find a bit of the ball.   It was just one of those days where you try and do your bit for the team and at the end of the day, it worked out.”

Williams said that he has loved this first couple of weeks but at first found it a little bit intimidating walking into the Club for the first time.

“But they’re all nice blokes and they get around you.

“Everyone has been really encouraging to me and the first few training sessions were awesome.”

Helping him settle in have been new housemates Josh Dunkley and Lin Jong but it’s Marcus Bontempelli that he models his game on.

“I just love the way he goes about it.  His professionalism, his composure. He’s awesome.”
