Bailey Dale has nominated his South Australian namesake, Bailey Williams as the one to watch of the 2016 draft class.

Williams was taken at pick 48 overall after spending the 2015 season with SANFL club Glenelg and when asked to nominate which of the new Dogs he had been most impressed with, Dale said that the 18-year old had made a strong impression in his short time at the Club.

“Bailey Williams across half back.  He’s trained really well and he’s a very good mark, so he’d be the one to look out for.”

Williams is one of seven players brought into the club at the end of 2015 via the Rookie and National Drafts, including top draft choices Josh Dunkley and Kieran Collins.

Dale said that being new to the Club was an experience that is still fresh for him and he’s made himself available to the new recruits looking for some guidance through the early days of their AFL careers.

“You always try and give them little tips about what you learnt over your first year at the club," the 19-year-old told westernbulldogs.com.au.

“Obviously it can be hard to find a group and fit in and trying to help them in that way is what I’ve been trying to do.

“A lot of the other boys know how that felt as well, so everyone’s taken them under their wing and given them little tips.”

Pressed further on what form his advice to the kennel’s newest pups has taken, Dale said that he’s kept it very simple.

“Rock up on time is probably the biggest one!

“A lot of the boys have been good at that.  If you’re not on time at a footy club, everyone pays the price.”
