Assistant coach Joel Corey says the Bulldogs will be treating the Club’s first interstate fixture for the season against the in-form Giants as just another game.

The Dogs travel to Spotless Stadium to play the third place GWS on Sunday, the first time the Club has played at the Sydney Olympic Park venue.

“It’s a challenging task to go to Sydney to play GWS, who’re in fantastic form," Corey said.

“It’ll be good for the guys to go away together, do a bit of bonding and then play the game and hopefully perform really well.

“[But] while we’ve never played up there before it’s a football ground, and if we do things the way we like to do, and expect to do, it should work on any ground in Australia.”

Corey said that despite going into the game minus the presence of Jack Redpath and Matthew Boyd, it’s an opportunity for another player to step in and have an impact.

“Each week in the AFL season is a new challenge.

“So while we’re missing a couple of players through suspension and injury, an opportunity comes for these other players that have been playing in the VFL and have been playing quality games.”

The Dogs have won two of their last three games, including last week’s win over Melbourne at the MCG, but Corey says it wasn’t long before all eyes turned to the in-form Giants.

“It was a good showing last week, but with football you have to move on pretty quickly and we know if you don’t bring that level of intensity and performance, you can be found out the following week.

“So [we’re] just trying to build what we do, [and] just trying and do it better each week.”
