Midfielder Lisa Williams has been named for the final AFLW hitout of the season this weekend, as the Bulldogs travel to Canberra to take on the Greater Western Sydney Giants on Saturday night.

Williams replaces the injured Kimberley Ebb for the clash at UNSW Canberra Oval.

Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Thursday afternoon, Bulldogs coach Paul Groves the weekend’s objective is straightforward – four quarters of consistent football.

“Our form has been quite good,” Groves said.

“The Carlton game, the Brisbane game…. we’ve played some really good footy, and some more consistent footy minus the little lapses we’ve been having that have cost us.

“So the objective is four consistent quarters of footy and avoid the lapses.”

The Bulldogs sit in seventh on the AFLW ladder after falling narrowly to Brisbane at the South Pine Sports Complex last weekend, with Groves saying that a win against the eighth place Giants would be good for the Club’s momentum as they head into the offseason.

“A win is important for what we’re trying to achieve as a group and would give us some momentum heading into next year because it’s a long off season - it would also be a reward for their efforts.

“We still we’re a pretty good side and the record doesn’t really indicated the strength we’ve got.”
