It was a return to the winner's list for the Western Bulldogs, holding off a fast finishing North Melbourne to come away with a one-point victory. We break down all the key stats to provide all you need to take away from the Saturday night thriller. 

  1. The Bulldogs had two players with over 20 pressure acts and 10  tackles: Marcus Bontempelli 22-10 and Jack Macrae 21-10.  Toby McLean’s 20-6 almost made it three.

  2. Jake Stringer’s 19 disposals was just two off his career high, which was 21 in Round 22, 2015 against the Kangaroos.  He also had 410 metres gained and 11 score involvements in Saturday night’s win.

  3. The Bulldogs won the contested possession count 148-133, the club’s best margin since Round 5 against the Lions.

  4. The Bulldogs half-time score of 10.8.68 was the highest against North Melbourne since 2008, and it was the first time either side has kicked more than five goals in a half since Luke Beveridge and Brad Scott took over their respective sides.

  5. Tom Campbell followed up a 54 hit-out performance in the VFL last weekend with a career-high 49 on Saturday night.  His six tackles was also a personal best.
