Footscray will be looking to continue their winning ways when they take on Port Melbourne in a VFL semi final at Fortburn Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

The Dogs set up a date with The Borough after holding off Essendon by five points in last weekend’s elimination final and could be bolstered by the return of up to seven players.

Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au on Thursday, captain Jordan Russell said with so much on the line he is expecting a tough contest.

“We’ve got our challenges, they’ve got some really good players and some experienced guys in their side,” he said.

“[But] we’re looking forward to running out, we’ll plan how we’re going to combat them and hopefully we get the win.”

The winner will advance to play Williamstown in a preliminary final on Sunday, 17 September while it’ll be season over for the loser.
