'Outsiders' - Coming Soon Take a look at the trailer for Outsiders - a behind-the-scenes look at the Western Bulldogs' ground-breaking journey to the 2016 AFL Premiership. Showing at Sun Theatre 28 September - 4 October, or pre-order the DVD today.

The story of the Western Bulldogs’ ground-breaking 2016 premiership triumph has been captured in the gripping movie-length documentary, Outsiders.

Created by Adrian Brown, in association with Whooshka Media, Outsiders is the behind-the-scenes look at the journey which led to the Bulldogs’ fairytale flag of last year, which ended its 62-year AFL premiership drought.

Outsiders is told through the eyes of the key pillars of the Bulldogs’ resurrection – president Peter Gordon, coach Luke Beveridge and captain Bob Murphy - along with current players and staff, journalists Martin Flanagan, Gerard Whateley and Tony Leonard, former players Luke Darcy, Terry Wheeler and Tony Liberatore, and comedian Wil Anderson.

Featuring never-before seen footage from the Club’s historic 2016 AFL Finals campaign, the film takes you inside Beveridge’s pre and post-match Grand Final team meetings, and the three-quarter-time huddle.

The Bulldogs overcame incredible odds to win their second premiership, becoming the first team to finish the home-and-away season in seventh position and go on to lift the cup.

The Outsiders story begins at the end of the 2014 season, with the Club in crisis when then-captain Ryan Griffen requested a trade to GWS and senior coach Brendan McCartney resigned.

It documents the arrival of Beveridge as coach and the elevation of Murphy to the captaincy, the great strides the Club made to reach the 2015 finals, and the rollercoaster 2016 season which was filled with setbacks, individual success stories and, ultimately, the game’s highest team accolade.

Outsiders is available on DVD via pre-order from the Bulldogs Shop for $35. Click here to purchase
