A member of Footscray’s 2016 VFL premiership team, Lynch was hampered by injury this season, playing 11 State League games after registering 22 last season.

The 20-year-old West Australian continued to show promising signs when fit, with his quickness and ability to use both sides of his body a feature.

Lynch arrived at the Club via pick 11 in the 2015 NAB AFL Rookie Draft and averaged 14 disposals, four marks and two tackles a game in 2017.

Stat that mattered:

Lynch signed a contract extension in September. He will remain at the kennel until at least the end of 2018.

What they said:

“It’s been a bit of an injury riddled year. I wasn’t expecting it because of the pre-season I had I thought was pretty good and I was really going in hungry.

“The injuries kind of dented my confidence in a way (but) it’s been a learning curve to put it that way.

“It puts a bit of fire in your belly, I’m raring to go already. I’m trying to comeback as good as I can, physically and mentally.”
