For Daughters of the West participant Jessie Sealey, 2017 was all about taking control of her health.

After hearing about the success of Sons of the West, Jessie was motivated to head along to the women’s health program, this year.

“I was encouraged to join the Daughters of the West program by a couple of friends of mine who were participants in the Sebastopol Sons of the West program, as they thought it would be very beneficial to me and it was,” Jessie said.

Looking back to the start of 2017, Jessie was disappointed with her nutrition and fitness, and wanted to make a change.

“My goals for joining the program were to work on my health and fitness level and to work on my self-values as a person,” she said.

“I gained so much more than this though. I gained knowledge on nutrition and exercise as well as emotional wellbeing, it was also a big confidence boost meeting lots of new people and giving a public speech at my graduation.”

Heading into 2018, Jessie has made it her aim to continue with her new lifestyle both during, and outside of the Daughters of the West program.

“My New Year’s resolution is to further improve my health and fitness level,” she said,

“I really hope to continue my healthy habits and be able to assist and support new participants on their Daughters of the West journey.”

“This program has been absolutely amazing for me. It has helped me see that I have a positive future ahead of me. I highly recommend the program to anyone.”
