The Western Bulldogs have brought two players into the extended squad ahead of their top-of-the-table clash with the Brisbane Lions at the South Pine Sports Complex on Sunday afternoon.

Defenders Hayley Wildes and Bailey Hunt have been named in the squad of 23 alongside rookie Kim Rennie who has been upgraded to the primary list, with Daria Bannister ruled out for the season after suffering an ACL injury in last weekend’s Round 1 win over Fremantle.

Match information: Dogs v Lions

The Dogs will be looking for their forward line to again fire as it did against the Dockers, with captain Katie Brennan set to be joined in front of goal by number one draft pick, Izzy Huntington.   Brennan kicked three first half goals last weekend, with Ellie Blackburn, Brooke Lochland, Aasta O’Connor and Bonnie Toogood also chipping in with majors,  while Huntingon was dangerous in tandem with Brennan as a deep leading forward in her AFLW debut.

The Bulldogs’ defenders will have their own hands full after Brisbane forward Sabrina Frederick-Traub’s match winning performance in Round 1 where the Lions disposed the reigning premiers, the Adelaide Crows at Norwood Oval.

Final teams will be named at 5pm Friday.
