Emma Kearney has capped off a superb home and away season by winning the 2018 Shadforth Financial Group AFL Coaches AFLW Champion Player of the Year.

Kearney tied with Crows co-captain Chelsea Randall on 42 votes for the award.

Dual sportswoman, Kearney, polled a maximum 10 votes in the Bulldogs' two-point win over Melbourne to share the award with Randall.

Kearney is a stoppage specialist who is tough, skilled and works hard. The 28-year-old led the competition after the home and away season in disposals, averaging 19.6 per game, she tied first for rebound 50s with 3.6 per game, and ranked second for inside 50s (3.9 per game) and clearances (5 per game).

Kearney's season is made even more impressive given she missed some of the Bulldogs’ AFLW pre-season opening the bowling for the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League.

The Western Bulldogs will face Brisbane in the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Grand Final at Ikon Park at 12.35pm on Saturday.
