With just six days between games, Western Bulldogs midfielder Caleb Daniel says the team must quickly ‘dust off’ and refocus, ahead of the Club’s first Friday night fixture of the season.

The Dogs were within a kick when Patrick Lipinski kicked his maiden AFL goal early in the second quarter, before Fremantle slammed on eight straight, eventually running out 51-point winners at Optus Stadium in Perth.

“They definitely started hunting us, and we probably weren’t up to it around the footy and our ball use really wasn’t great,” Daniel told BulldogsTV after the match.

“We’ve got to get back to the basics, the fundamentals, putting your head over (the footy), staying over it for longer, and getting back to that.”

With an average tally of 58 games played, the Dogs put out the youngest team in the League for the fifth week running, and Daniel said the group will learn from the loss and get back to work.

“It’s a young group, we’ve just go to pick ourselves up, dust off and get back to basics,” the 21-year-old said.

“It’ll be a pretty quick review.  We’ll try and get that game behind us and pick out the stuff we really need to work on and then straight into Friday night footy.”
