Inspired by his involvement in the Western Bulldogs Community Foundation’s Sons of the West program, Leader Terry Charles and the Watergardens Town Centre have established a walking group to encourage the Brimbank community to keep active.

Terry, who has previously suffered from depression, credits Sons of the West for helping him gain the motivation to improve his own health and wellbeing, while inspiring others.

The 51-year old volunteer works alongside the Foundation and Watergardens Town Centre to help deliver weekly walking sessions around the shopping centre, aimed at encouraging cohesion within the community while tackling physical and mental health.

Registered through the Heart Foundation, the Watergardens Walkers officially launched their walking group last Thursday at Watergardens Town Centre with the help of Western Bulldogs ruckman Tim English and Roxie the AFLW mascot.

The Watergardens Walkers set off every Thursday evening at 7pm at the Information Desk at Watergardens Shopping Centre, across from The Cupcake Queens.
