Three Western Bulldogs have been nominated for the AFL Players’ Most Valuable Player award for 2018.

Marcus Bontempelli, Jackson Macrae and Lachie Hunter all received nominations for the peer nominated award, which will be announced at the AFL Players’ MVP Awards on August 30.

Bontempelli has averaged 24 disposals from his 18 games this season while Hunter (30) and Macrae (32) have been solid for the Dogs.

Veteran Bulldog Dale Morris was nominated for the AFLPA’s Most Corageous player award.

The hard working defender played his 250th match against North Melbourne in Round 21.

First year defender Ed Richards has been nominated in the Best First Year Player Category.

Richards earned an NAB AFL Rising Star nomination in Round 10 and has averaged 14 disposals per game in his first season at the kennel.

Easton Wood has been nominated for the Best Captain Award.

The nomination for the MVP Award is a two-stage process. The first stage involves players nominating three teammates for the award, before three nominees from each club are presented to the wider playing group for a vote to decide the winner.

Players cannot vote for their own teammates in stage two of the process.
