The Western Bulldogs Sons of the West men’s health program will make a move into Sunbury for the first time in 2017.

Sons of the West will work with Sunbury Community Health to kick-start the program, which commences with the pre-season program on 13 February. Sunbury Community Health is a not-for-profit community health organisation, providing a range of services that respond to the needs of Sunbury and its surrounding communities.

Returning for its fourth year in 2017, Sons of the West has supported men living and working in Victoria’s west. The program aims to promote health and prevent disease in men aged 18 and over through a series of workshops, activities and information sessions.

The innovative, free health program aims to engage men across the west in simple, healthy activities aimed at boosting their health and wellbeing.

In its first two years the program focused solely on Melbourne’s western suburbs but extended to Ballarat in 2016 and now to Sunbury in 2017 – with the Bulldogs committed to expanding their community beyond Melbourne’s west to include Ballarat and western Victoria.
