Midfielder Tom Liberatore and defender Matthew Boyd are among four inclusions for the Western Bulldogs clash with the Crows on Friday night at Adelaide Oval.

Liberatore and Boyd join defender Fletcher Roberts and forward Clay Smith in returning to the side, with Robert Murphy (hamstring), Tom Campbell (abdominal strain), Shane Biggs (calf) and Tory Dickson (omitted) to miss.

Lukas Webb, Lewis Young and Bailey Williams have been named as emergencies.

Speaking to media on Wednesday at VU Whitten Oval, coach Luke Beveridge said he expects the Crows to be a challenge, but the Dogs will cross the border optimistic they can bring back the win.

“In recent times both Melbourne and Hawthorn have got them on their home deck and so we go over there optimistic that we can be more than nuisance value,” Beveridge said.

“But they’ve got significant threats right through their lines so it’s going to be a huge challenge for us.

“We’ve had a good week identifying doing some of the things we haven’t been consistent enough with and if we get some of them right then we’re going to be hard to beat on Friday night.”

Matthew Boyd will this week break former Eagle Dean Cox’s record for the most games ever off of the rookie list, and Mitch Wallis will play his 100th game.
