westernbulldogs.com.au has cast its eye over the Bulldogs’ 2016 fixture and have found five marquee home matches that you  can’t afford to miss.

Round  3 - Sunday , 10 April, 2015
Western Bulldogs v Hawthorn
3:20pm, Etihad Stadium

The past three years, the Bulldogs have played away to the Hawks in Launceston with diminishing returns, but with an early season home fixture against the reigning premiers at Etihad Stadium the Dogs have the chance to benchmark themselves against the best. The Hawks have held the wood over the Dogs since 2010, having won the past seven encounters, and seven of the past 11 at Etihad Stadium, but the fixture presents Luke Beveridge’s men a prime early opportunity to make a statement and turn the tide on the Hawks’ recent streak.

Round 7 – Saturday, 7 May 2015
Western Bulldogs v Adelaide Crows
7:40pm, Etihad Stadium

The Adelaide Crows were the protagonists in the Bulldogs’ heartbreaking Elimination Final exit in season 2015, with the boys from the west having to wait until round seven next year for their first chance to exact their revenge. When the two sides met under the roof during the 2015 home and away season, Jake Stringer kicked five goals to help the Dogs to an emphatic 57-point win over the Crows, a performance the Bulldogs fans will undoubtedly like to see repeated when the two sides go head-to-head again.

Round 13 – Saturday, 18 June 2015
Western Bulldogs v Geelong
7:25pm, Etihad Stadium

The Cats and Dogs have engaged in some memorable duels over the years, but since 2009 it has been the Cats that have emerged on top. Chris Scott’s men have won the past eight against the Dogs, and 13 of the past 15 encounters between the two sides, and with the off-season acquisitions of Patrick Dangerfield, Scott Selwood, Lachie Henderson and Zac Smith, the round 13 clash between the two sides will again be one not to be missed. Luke Beveridge’s men regretted an opportunity missed against the Cats past season, you get the sense that this will act as a a burning motivation in 2016.
