The Western Bulldogs were named the Australian Institute of Sport’s 2016 People’s Choice Team of the Year at a ceremony in Sydney last night.

With 29.2% of the vote, the Bulldogs finished just ahead of Australia’s gold medal winning Women’s rugby sevens at 26.2%, the two teams between them scooping up over half of the votes.

The AIS Sports Performance Awards (ASPAs) recognise Australia’s leading athletes, teams, coaches and administrators by celebrating their outstanding achievements.
