Season in short

Returned to action after suffering an ACL injury late in 2015 to play 11 VFL games, including the grand final, averaging 12 disposals, there tackles and four marks on the season. 

Played his second senior game against Essendon in round 22, the high-flying half back amassing 12 touches at 91% to go along with three score involvements, two inside 50s and two rebound 50s.

The 20-year-old Smith was recruited to the Kennel with pick five overall in the 2014 NAB AFL Rookie Draft from the Calder Cannons and made his AFL debut against the West Coast Eagles in round 21 2015.

“I worked really hard in rehab and came back stronger than I was last year so that was a big positive.  Came back and played a senior game as well which gave me some confidence that I can play there in the future.

“I need to work on getting a bit more of the ball and using my voice to demand it and a bit more run and carry.”
