With the Club’s opening NAB Challenge match two days away, Jake Stringer says the Dogs are “itching” for their first game of 2015.

Stringer says the Dogs have a near full list available, with several new players looking to get their chance.

“We’ve got a full healthy list so hopefully it’s a strong team and it’s been quite a few years since the AFL’s had a run around at Whitten Oval, so I’d be thinking we’d have a pretty strong team.

“There’s a new batch of young kids that are itching to get a game, so we’re looking forward to getting out there Saturday at the Whitten Oval and hopefully tearing a bit of havoc out there.”

Stringer said the Dogs would look to for more versatility under new coach Luke Beveridge, and that after four months of pre-season training, his side are ready for the challenge.

“Myself, Lachie Hunter, Nathan Hrovat are getting a lot more time in there [midfield] which is good.

“I’m looking forward to the challenge, it should be good to start Saturday and then hopefully see how we roll through the next of the NAB (Challenge) games.”

Stringer urged all fans to fill Victoria University Whitten Oval and support the Bulldogs in their first match at the ground since 1997.

“Hopefully we can get around 10-15,000 and hopefully it’s all Dogs supporters and they can get the place rocking.”
