Irish Bulldog Aisling McCarthy has earned four coaches’ votes after her performance in Friday night’s 20-point loss to Melbourne.

McCarthy recorded a team-high 15 disposals in the wet and windy conditions, to go with her eight tackles and two marks.

She was also judged best on ground for the Western Bulldogs by AFL Media, followed by skipper Ellie Blackburn (13 disposals, six tackles), Kirsty Lamb (11 disposals, five tackles), Lauren Spark (10 disposals) and Naomi Ferres (14 disposals). 

Having received 10 votes in Round 1, Blackburn currently shares sixth spot on the AFL Coaches Association AFLW Champion Player of the Year leader board with nine others.
