Western Bulldogs Development Manager Chris Maple looks at how each of the Bulldogs listed players fared in the VFL over the weekend.

Tom Young: Tom unfortunately copped a really heavy knock in the second quarter and took no more part in the game. He started down back and ran the ball out of the back line quite well for us.

Alex Greenwood: Alex played his first senior game for a while. He started off as a high forward and took a really nice mark early. Then we moved him onto the wing in the second quarter where he had quite a good impact for the team – gaining a couple of clearances. He just needs more time at the senior level to find his feet.

Christian Howard: Christian played wing and on ball and was quite effective early for the side. He got quite a few possessions in the first half but probably drifted away in the second. It was his first game back and it was great to see him back and moving around well.

Daniel Pearce: Danny was playing half back and he ran the ball well out of defence early on. We are just going to keep working hard on the defensive side of his game.

Ayce Cordy: He played as a deep forward mainly. They played a loose man in defence and he often had two defenders to play on, so he found it difficult at times. He kicked one goal but we will keep working on his forward craft.

Lukas Markovic: Lukas played a bit at both ends of the ground this week. He started up forward, came at the ball well and kicked a goal. He then moved into defence and was really solid down back.

Nick Lower: It was his first game for Williamstown as a Bulldogs player. He played on ball and had 26 possessions playing a tough inside mid role. He kicked a nice goal and had 11 clearances, so he was very good inside.

Patrick Veszpremi: Patrick kicked three goals and did really well one on one on a couple of occasions. He also had four clearances himself - so it was a pretty good day for Paddy.

Mark Austin: I thought Mark Austin was the best player for the day, from a Bulldogs side of things. He was just really competitive and spoiled hard. He competed really well and it was a very dour defensive effort from Mark.

Daniel Cross: Again he had 34 possessions, five clearances and five hitouts. He played through the midfield and played a typical Daniel Cross game. He was hard to play against, he had good contested numbers with the footy and was in the best players.

Tom Campbell: He had a bit of a breakout game as a forward, I thought. Marked the ball very well early and looked very dangerous. He kicked two goals and was very good in the ruck as well. It was probably one of his best games in a while and he is really starting to get some form.

Development League

Easton Wood: It was fantastic to see Easton back. He was on limited game time but we were really happy with what we saw. He ran up and down the ground really well for us and there was no soreness in his leg, which was really promising. He played a pretty good game.

Lin Jong: He rotated between midfield and back during the game. Again it was a very competitive effort, so he was good.

Fletcher Roberts: Fletch played as a defender for the first half and did very well. It was a bit of a one sided game so we moved him forward to keep him in the play and he kicked three goals in the second half. So it was a really promising performance from Fletcher.
