Quicker ball movement and better cohesion among the young forward group has helped the Bulldogs score more freely in recent weeks, Daniel Giansiracusa says.

“The last three weeks it has seemed like it has been a little bit easier to play forward because the ball movement has been a bit quicker, we’ve been a bit more predictable to each other and you get a lot more opportunities.

“I feel like these younger guys in the forward line are definitely getting confidence and it showed on the weekend.”

Luke Dahlhaus’ exceptional performance against West Coast on Sunday also impressed Giansiracusa, in particular the young forward’s ability to handle close attention.

“This has been a real eye opener for him - he’s probably had the most attention of any forward, so he has had to deal with that,” he said.

“He’s come through the back of it and he’s playing some good footy at the moment.

“He will definitely be a weapon for us [into the future]because his sideways movement is as good as anyone I’ve seen.”

Giansiracusa said Jarrad Grant’s recent form has been a by-product of the 24-year-old’s team first attitude, and willingness to help the team at all costs.

“We all know that there’s definitely talent there with Jarrad and it is just more about him applying himself the way he should as a professional footballer,” he said.

“A lot of people say it is above the shoulders and I think with Jarrad he has finally figured that out and he’s in a good headspace at the moment.

“To go back with the flight of the ball like he did on the weekend just sends a huge message to his teammates that he is up for the fight and he is really ready to buy in and that’s shown with his performances in the past few weeks.”
