A more versatile role could accompany Stewart Crameri’s move to the Western Bulldogs, with the forward indicating he could spend stints in the midfield in 2014.

After discussions with Bulldogs Senior Coach Brendan McCartney, Crameri said he will be based in the Bulldogs forward half but the occasional rotation through the middle is a possibility.

“It is similar to where I was (at Essendon), I just played as a forward and filled in, I was a tall forward, was a small forward and played a role down forward which helped the team,” Crameri said.

“I think I can play other roles as well – Brendan suggested maybe midfield and off the back flank if the chance comes.”

“I’ve always had the ability to run alright so that [improvement] will just come naturally with hard training.”

Traded to the Bulldogs in return for pick 26 during the Gillette AFL Trade Period last week, the 25-year-old will join a group of predominantly key position players in Colorado next week to begin pre-season training.

“It’s been exciting to finally get here, I’ve met most of the guys now and I am actually going to go on the big mans’ camp next week – so that will be a good chance to meet up with the younger guys,” he said.
