Luke Beveridge spoke to the media on Tuesday afternoon and westernbulldogs.com.au breaks down the key takeaways

On Dale Morris

The veteran defender returned from an partial torn ACL through the VFL on the weekend and has pulled up sore.

"He's a bit sore (and) unlikely to be considered this week, it's a five day turnaround from the VFL and we see how he comes up for Saturday.

"He felt his way through the game and he's been out a while so we've got to make sure he's totally right before we bring him into the AFL scene.

"He's a little bit sore in the knee, (the medial), which is a little bit different, nothing major but he's still a chance to play on Saturday but we'll wait and see.

"He said he's better today than he was yesterday."

On Marcus Adams and Tory Dickson

Marcus Adams also played his first game in some time on the weekend due to injury though Beveridge says he's still got work to do before returning to AFL level, although we could see Tory Dickson sooner rather than later.

"Marcus has pulled up ok but it'll take him a little while to find his form, and Tory's available so we'll consider him at AFL level.  He may get a run Friday night.

"Our sports science area in combination with our medical department usually get our players totally ready to play so it minimizes the risk but it's always there, especially with soft tissue, but he did a big session on Saturday and he's more than ready to play, it's just at what level."

On Josh Schache

After nine goals in three weeks in the VFL, Beveridge says Schache could be about ready to debut in Dogs colours.

"He's had some good weeks but that last two in particular he's been able to hit the scoreboard and caused a few headaches for Footscray, so we'll definitely consider him from Friday night.

"We're going to train this afternoon and we'll get our selection in order by tomorrow afternoon.  He'll be considered."

On Liam Picken

The rugged fan favourite returned to the full program this week according to Beveridge, with his return to field likely after the bye.

"This is the first week he's back into the full program in all our meetings, full training.

"We believe there's a chance he might play not too long after the bye, so we will wait until we get there.

"He's still getting some minor headaches and there's still some remnants from the concussion but good signs he's able to sit in meetings and be amongst his teammates for the whole program.

"It's good to have him back "

On that selfie

Beveridge was approached for a photo with a fan straight after Friday night's loss to Adelaide.

"The young lady yelled out, I thought I must have known her, someone in Adelaide wanting to talk to me.

"But as I turned around, she said "can I have a selfie, you're my favourite coach". She didn't have any colours on so I didn't know which team she barracked for but how can you deny that?"
