Season in short:

After joining the Bulldogs list at the end of 2013, Darley impressed in his first year at the Club.

Although only playing five games in the senior side, he impressed with his approach on the ball and ability to find a balance between defence and attack.

Darley’s first goal in Bulldogs colours came in the game against St Kilda in round 20, where he also picked up 17 disposals, at 88 per cent efficiency – no doubt his best game for the year.

Darley also strung good performances together in the VFL, pressing for AFL selection on a number of occasions, including a run of games in the middle of the year where he picked up 17, 21 and 26 disposals in three games.

 

The stat that mattered:

Ranked 15th in AFL for rebound 50s per game.

“In 14 games of footy it was my first AFL win, so I know when that siren went I went straight up to Dale Morris and, mate, I can’t describe the feeling I had at that time.
