VFL premiers Footscray will unfurl the premiership flag in round one in a home match at Victoria University Whitten Oval.

The VFL fixture for 2015 was announced today with the Bulldogs set to play in a grand final rematch against Box Hill Hawks on Saturday 18 April.

The Bulldogs will play all of their nine home games at VU Whitten Oval, under the guidance of Ashley Hansen, who was announced as the team’s new coach this week, after premiership coach Chris Maple was appointed the Western Bulldogs' Head of Development.

Foostcray will be given every opportunity to kick-start their tilt at back-to-back flags with four of its first five home games on home turf.

Another fixture highlight will be the Dogs’ night match in round 19 against Essendon in Bendigo.

Footscray will have byes in rounds four and nine.
