Western Bulldogs coach Luke Beveridge has assured fans there is still plenty of growth left in his young Bulldogs.

After a season that brought 14 wins and exceeded most peoples’ expectations, Beveridge says there is still room to grow for his side.

“There’s still a fair bit of growth in us but in such a short space of time for us to come so far… We did obviously set some challenges early in the year as to we wanted to play that were quite dramatic changes.

“It’s been an enormous, enjoyable journey that the players have taken all of us on, so we hope that they can continue to improve.

“I’m unbelievably proud of them.”

Beveridge said the experience for his players to play a big final at the MCG was just one step in what he hopes is continued development.

“We want to continue to grow, we envisage winning big finals out here at some point in the future.

“Tonight was an opportunity that we didn’t take, but I’m glad we played at the ‘G.”

Despite a disappointing end to the 2015 season, going down to Adelaide in Saturday night’s elimination final by seven points, Beveridge lauded his players for their contribution this season.

“It’s gut-wrenching, I just said to the players, they’re obviously extremely disappointed, but just to walk out with their heads held high for everything that they’ve done for our footy club.”

Heavily publicised has been the Bulldogs attacking game style this season, with the free-flowing, high-scoring game attracting many supporters.

Beveridge said he hoped that would continue to draw support for the Club, both on and off the field.

“We’ve loved the fact that the footy public have warmed to the way we play and there’s some romance attached to some of our players that is critical for our footy club.

“As we try and grow out into the western suburbs and across the other side of town as well, and across all of Australia, we need to playing good footy and we did this year.”
