Coming off a narrow victory last round against Essendon, the Western Bulldogs secured their sixth consecutive VFLW victory to continue their rise up the ladder.

With Alyssa Mifsud kicking three goals for the victors, along with two goals to Lauren Butler, the Bulldogs were 40-point victors, 10.9 (69) to 4.5 (29).

Nicole McMahon was dominant in the ruck for the Bulldogs helping set-up the win, providing drive and momentum for the visitors out of the centre-square and around the stoppages at critical points in the game.

After Williamstown kicked the first two goals of the game, the Bulldogs responded with two goals of their own through Sarah Jolly and Alyssa Mifsud.

It was level pegging going into the second term, however the quarter was dominated by the Dogs’ attacking half, kicking four goals without answer.

Mifsud was influential, adding to her first quarter goal, with a further two majors in the second quarter.

The Dogs’ defence was impenetrable in the second and third terms, keeping Williamstown goalless and helping set-up a 41-point advantage at the final change.

The fourth quarter was a see-sawing affair as both teams added two goals each, however it was to be the Dogs’ day, coming away with a 40-point victory.

The Western Bulldogs now sit in sixth position on the Swisse Wellness VFL Women's ladder, separated only on percentage from fifth placed Darebin.

The Western Bulldogs have a bye next weekend, however will be back in action against the Southern Saints at Henry Turner Reserve on Sunday 5 August, with the first bounce at 12pm.
