The Western Bulldogs have received a second-round selection (currently pick 25) for the 2018 NAB AFL Draft, as compensation for losing midfielder Luke Dahlhaus.

Dahlhaus, an unrestricted free agent, officially joined Geelong on Friday, on the first day of the AFL’s Free Agency period.

The 26-year-old had previously told the Club of his intention to explore free agency, after eight years and 154 games.

The Bulldogs were without a second round Draft selection coming into the 2019 player movement period, after it was traded as a future pick last year.

The Club currently now holds selections 6, 25, 42, 59, 60 and 78 in the NAB AFL Draft, which will be held over two days on November 22 and 23 in Melbourne.

The official NAB AFL Trade Period will get underway on Monday, October 8.
