Jackson Trengove is the first to admit he tells it as it is.

The 28-year old big man, who was one of two additions to the Bulldogs’ leadership group for 2019, doesn’t shy away from honesty and is confident some constructive feedback will only benefit the playing group.

“I’m a little bit straight to the point, I sort of cut out a little bit of the in-between stuff,” Trengove told westernbulldogs.com.au.

“I’m direct and (have) the honesty of being up front and saying it how it is – but I’ll also bring that positivity and energy around the place.”

BULLDOGS DUO ELEVATED TO LEADERSHIP GROUP

A former member of Port Adelaide’s leadership group during his time with the Power, Trengove said it was important to maintain positivity, particularly with a young team.

“With a young team we really want to be able to keep the vibe up and build a strong culture,” he said.

“Going forward we’re going to need that.”

Despite missing some time with a scapula injury, Trengove put together 18 games in his first season at the Kennel in 2018 and showed his versatility across all three lines.

“It was an interesting first year,” he said.

“I probably didn’t get settled until later on in the year. I’ll be looking forward to getting that consistency next year and playing the full season how we finished off.”
