Thursday night's JLT Community Series match against Brisbane should hold no fears for the Bulldogs if history is any guide. The Bulldogs have played in three previous matches on a Thursday night and won them all.

Way back in 1999, the Bulldogs had a comprehensive 38-point win over Sydney at Waverley Park in an Ansett Australia Cup quarter final played on Thursday 25 February.

Fast forward 17 years and the Bulldogs' 2016 premiership campaign got off to a great start with a 1.13.17.104 to 0.11.7.73 win over GWS in the club's first NAB Challenge match, also played on Thursday 25 February.

And of course, who could forget the Bulldogs' momentous win over the West Coast Eagles in last year's second elimination final, the first ever AFL final to be played on a Thursday. The Bulldogs stunned the football world by 47 points to kick off a magical month that culminated in a premiership.

So, if history is any guide, the Bulldogs should head into this Thurday's match against the Lions with confidence
