Western Bulldogs Director of Football Chris Grant says there’s ‘every chance’ that forward Jake Stringer will remain a Bulldog.

Speaking to westernbulldogs.com.au, Grant said that while discussions will likely continue into next week about the 23-year-old’s future, the Club’s position has remained consistent throughout the trade period.

“In regards to Jake and how the next week might play out, our position hasn’t really changed", he said.

“We met with Jake’s management a couple of weeks ago and mutually agreed to explore options of where Jake may play in 2018.

“Looking forward, we’ll continue to have discussions with the relevant parties but as it stands Jake’s a Bulldogs player and there’s every chance he’ll be a Bulldogs player in 2018.”

The Dogs have since welcomed two players to the Club in as many weeks, with former high-flying Docker Hayden Crozier this week joining Jackson Trengove at VU Whitten Oval.

“We’re really pleased to acquire the services of Hayden and Jackson, Grant said.

“We’ve been looking at those players for quite some time so at the end of the first week to have those players officially join us, we’re really pleased.”

Looking forward to the second and final week of the trade period, Grant said he expected the Club’s List Management Committee to continue to meet regularly in the lead up to the final day of trade on Thursday.

“We’ll have robust discussions as we always do and through that process, at the end of it, I’ll make that final call.  From time to time, Gary Kent as our CEO and our president, Peter Gordon may be joining us in those meetings as an update.”

The 2017 trade period runs until 2pm on Thursday, October 19.
