The Western Bulldogs’ win against Collingwood on Sunday afternoon became even sweeter on Monday morning with no major injury concerns to come out of the match.

The Bulldogs’ playing list is in good shape as they near the business end of the home and away season, with up to three players a possibility to return from the injury list this weekend.

Vice-captain Jordan Roughead was a late withdrawal against the Pies with a foot complaint, with Bulldogs General Manager of Football Graham Lowe saying the defender would need to undergo a test this week to prove his fitness.

“Jordan came in with some foot soreness across the later part of last week so we just wanted to manage him conservatively and make sure we make the right decisions around whether he’s fit and available as we work towards the back end of the season.

“So at this stage we’ve got some training and testing to do with him this week and off the back of that we’ll make decisions about whether he’s available to play this week.”

Fellow defenders Fletcher Roberts and Joel Hamling could both return after pulling up well on Monday morning from their respective injuries.

Roberts has missed two matches with an ankle injury, but Lowe was positive about his progress.

“Fletcher’s done really well with his program, he’s certainly hit all the markers that we wanted him to achieve so again we just need to make sure we can build his training load up to the back end of this week with a view to seeing whether he’s available for selection.”

Hamling has missed three matches with a back complaint, but has also progressed well through his rehab.

“Joel’s back’s settled right down which is really pleasing and we’re just building his training load so we’re building that with a view to making him fit and available for selection this week,” Lowe said.

In positive news for the Club, Mitch Honeychurch enjoyed a successful return through the VFL after missing a month of football.

“It was great to have Mitch back there, he’s worked hard to present himself after his back injury.

“So really pleasing to have him back and good to have him back and available for the coming weeks.”
