Eclipsing the 35,000 member barrier for the first time in club history, the Western Bulldogs has broken its all-time membership record, surging past the previous mark of 34,893 on Monday morning

The Club’s old membership benchmark was set in 2010 on the back of successive preliminary finals appearances, with the 2015 figure likely to increase further with three home games still remaining in the AFL Premiership season.

Building on the tally of 31,814 members in 2014, the resilience and passion of the Bulldogs faithful has been unwavering on the back of a testing off-season.

Western Bulldogs President Peter Gordon said it was exciting to see the Bulldogs ‘Pack’ reach record levels.

“We are thrilled to have reached the 35,000 membership milestone for the first time in our history.

“This is a significant achievement and a great vote of confidence in the direction of our Club,” said Gordon.

“We’ve had every confidence that this day would come in season 2015, but it’s incredibly satisfying to be able to hit this milestone.”

With the Bulldogs winning five of its last seven matches, the growth and on-field improvement at the Kennel is undeniable.

“It’s an exciting time to be a Bulldog,” Gordon said.

“We’ve got a 9-6 winning record, an emerging playing group, strong leadership under Bob Murphy and Luke Beveridge, and a brand of football that is exciting to watch.”

“We’re confident these numbers will continue to grow with our young group of players.”

While surpassing the 35,000 barrier is important, Gordon said there is still an opportunity for fans to help grow the membership tally further.

“With three home games still to come this season, it’s not too late to join the pack, and help push our membership tally well beyond 35,000.”

“There’s some real momentum building at the Kennel, and we want all Bulldogs to get on board’.
