Former Woodville-West Torrens midfielder McNeil became a Bulldog via Pick 11 in the 2020 AFL Rookie Draft. Having been overlooked in the previous draft, McNeil turned his attention to the SANFL competition; playing every senior game for the Eagles including the premiership win, while averaging 18 disposals and four tackles. A tough on-baller with clean hands and good speed, McNeil managed 12 senior games in 2024 to take his overall tally to 54 games.
