Western Bulldogs forward Shaun Higgins will miss the remainder of the 2013 season after suffering a fractured navicular in his left foot against Richmond on Sunday.

Higgins is due to undergo surgery later this week after scans today revealed the fracture.

“The nature of navicular injuries, means we’ll obviously take full caution with how we approach Shaun’s rehabilitation,” Medical Services Manager, Andrew McKenzie said.

“Shaun is a resilient character and will leave no stone unturned in his recovery from this set-back.”

Defender Easton Wood and forward Tory Dickson will also spend some time on the sidelines after suffering injuries against Richmond.

Wood injured his left hamstring during the first quarter on Sunday, and scans today revealed a tear.

Forward Tory Dickson will undergo surgery tonight to repair a ruptured lateral ligament in his left ankle and will miss eight weeks.
