Western Bulldogs midfielder Adam Cooney will remain at the Club until the end of 2015, after the Brownlow medallist agreed to terms yesterday.

Cooney, fresh from playing his 200th game in the win against Adelaide, has played 19 games this season and has average over 25 possessions per game.

The 27-year-old will likely end a one-club player with the new deal, after being selected with the number one pick in the 2003 national draft.

List Manager Jason McCartney said Cooney re-committing was a great result for the Club and its deep midfield stocks.

“Both parties are really pleased with the outcome, and we look forward to seeing Adam carry on his solid form for at least another two seasons,” McCartney said.

“We see Adam and his experience vitally important to our Club and its list demographic going forward.”

“This deal also complements the recent re-signing of Tom Liberatore, further strengthening our midfield group.”
