The Western Bulldogs have signed former Melbourne forward Jessica Anderson as a free agent for the 2018 AFLW season.

Anderson was as a key member of the Demons’ forward line in five appearances during the 2017 AFLW competition.

Western Bulldogs AFLW Coach Paul Groves said he is looking forward to seeing Anderson’s progress at her new club.

“Jessica is an impressive young talent, and we’re excited about what she can bring to the group,” he said.

“We expect Jessica to become an important member of our forward line, while having the ability to play down back, which she is learning at VFL level currently.”

Anderson said she is excited to continue her AFLW career at the Bulldogs in 2018.

“It looks to be an amazing year,” she said.

“Emma Kearney and Ellie Blackburn have been a phenomenal influence on me over the past year.

“It will be awesome to continue that journey and have their guidance, looking forward.”

The Club last week re-signed 18 players for next season, and welcomed former Demon Deanna Berry in a four-club trade deal.

During the trade period, the Dogs received selections one and four, with their pick three heading to Collingwood and pick 12 traded to Carlton.
