Luke Darcy is in doubt for Friday week's Chemist Warehouse EJ Whitten Legends Game after pulling up ginger from a morning run, it's been revealed.
Darcy was set to lead the Allies onto Etihad Stadium on September 1 but now appears to be under an injury cloud.
“I thought yesterday I better get out and run, the former Bulldogs skipper explained to the Hot Breakfast on Wednesday.
"On the tenth stride, I think I might have done a hammy.
“I felt it grab and I thought ‘Oh you’re kidding’ I stopped immediately and walked the dog home.”
“I’ve woken up this morning and it’s very sore.”
Darcy was set to be one of ten former Bulldogs to pull on the either a Victorian or Allied jumper in the annual fixture, although the big man has not ruled himself out.
“I will be out there even if I am on one leg,” he said.
