Tory Dickson is set to miss the next six weeks of football according to Western Bulldogs Medical Services Manager Chris Bell.

Dickson grabbed at his hamstring late in the first quarter of Saturday afternoon’s 49-point loss to Melbourne, with scans confirming a low grade tear.

“This is the same hamstring he damaged in the Round Five Fremantle game,” Bell told westernbulldogs.com.au.

“We’re going to have to be conservative in Tory’s reload in rehab this time and we expect him to miss the next five to six weeks.”

Bailey Dale is making progress for a foot injury, but isn’t expected to return to play for at least the next four to five weeks.

Dale developed some foot soreness following the Collingwood match a fortnight ago, and the Club will further assess the 21-year-old when he comes out of his CAM boot next Monday.

“Once he comes out of the boot we’ll progressively reload his running and monitor his symptoms, and this will give us a more accurate idea of his return to play plan.”

The news is better for Zaine Cordy who is expected to be available to line up against Port Adelaide after the bye.

“Following his concussion against Collingwood Zaine didn’t quite tick all of our boxes in time for main training last Thursday,” Bell said.

“He’s come in really well this week and we’ll assess him as the week goes on.  At this stage we fully expect him to come back into full training next week ahead of the Port Adelaide game.”
