Shane Biggs arrived at the Bulldogs during the 2014 AFL Trade Period and became a fan favourite over four seasons in the red, white and blue.

The Dogs used compensation gained from trading Adam Cooney to Essendon to swoop on the Swans rookie, just minutes before the Trade Period deadline.

The Club traded pick 37 to the Swans (which was later used to recruit James Rose) for Biggs and pick 39 (Declan Hamilton).

“It all happened pretty quickly, and I didn't have much time to think about it, but I'm really happy it happened in the end,” Biggs told The Age following the move.

Before arriving at VU Whitten Oval he played six senior games over two seasons at the Swans and took some time to make his way into the Dogs’ senior side, but did so at the right time.

The rebounding defender was one of four Bulldogs to play every game (26 matches) in season 2016, culminating in the AFL premiership.

Biggs’ 30-second effort in the final quarter of the 2016 Grand Final - against his old side Sydney - will go down in Bulldogs’ history.

The 27-year-old retired in August after 63 AFL games, spanning six seasons.
