The Western Bulldogs will make at least two forced changes for Sunday’s Round 3 match against Essendon at Etihad Stadium.

Defender Jackson Trengove (scapula) and ruckman Jordan Roughead (concussion) are unavailable, while forwards Jack Redpath and Tory Dickson have been named to play their first senior matches of the 2018 season.

Dickson kicked four first-half goals against Essendon in the VFL last Saturday, while 194cm big-man Redpath will return to the side after serving his AFL suspension.

Mitch Wallis, Tom Boyd, Fletcher Roberts and Shane Biggs have also been included in the extended squad, with the final 22 to be named at 5pm on Friday.

Sunday’s match will mark the 24th time that the Bulldogs and Essendon have played for the EJ Whitten Cup.

The EJ Whitten Cup was named in honour of Footscray/Western Bulldogs legend Ted Whitten, who died from prostate cancer in 1995.

The Bulldogs and Bombers will go head-to-head from 3.20pm at Etihad Stadium.
